Why We Added This Space
Photography has been a lifelong thread running through both of our lives.
The photograph is only the beginning of the process.
There is the travel, the weather, the waiting, the missed shots, the unexpected discoveries, the editing, the paper testing, the printing, and sometimes the frustration of trying to make an image become what we saw and felt when we made it.
Jason’s Light Works represents the combined creative work of both Jason and Lynn. While many of the images and writings may come from one perspective or the other, the work itself has always been shaped through shared experience, discussion, experimentation, and a lifelong connection to photography and printing.
We wanted to add this section to share more of what is happening here — what we are working on, what is coming next, the techniques and materials we are experimenting with, and occasionally the realities that come with trying to sustain a creative life and continue producing physical photographic prints in a rapidly changing world.
Some entries may focus on new photographs or print releases.
Some may explore paper choices, printing methods, or why certain images work better in black and white than color.
Others may simply be observations from the road, the print room, or the process behind creating the work itself.
This will not be a fast-content feed or an attempt to chase algorithms.
We would rather create something useful, thoughtful, and honest — even if it arrives a little slower.
The goal is simple:
to share more of the work behind the work.
Because for us, the final print has always mattered just as much as the image itself.
